What is Brinjal Gothsu?

Eggplant, Aubergine, or Brinjal Gotshu is a typical Tamilian Dish that is a mandatory part of any Tamilian function. It is esentially a South Indian version of stewed eggplant, which is usually relished with hot Pongal with a generous amount of Desi Ghee. Growing up, I was never very fond of Pongal but I never missed a change to eat it because it always came with a generous helping of my favourite Kathrikkai Gothsu!

Is Kathrikkai Gothsu Healthy?

Eggplant is said to be high in fiber and low in calories. That is why it is a regular part of the Keto diet. It is also said to be good for heart disease. However, the consumption of eggplant every day should be avoided by people with a history of kidney stones. As far as common knowledge goes, eggplant is good for pregnant women as well*. However, as I always say, it is always better to consult your doctor before consuming any vegetable in case you have preexisting medical conditions or allergies.
